Frank LaRosa says he has spent most of his life playing golf…and the rest has just wasted! 😉
Frank is a popular Northern California radio and television personality and golf writer who has chronicled the game and industry across multiple platforms since 1988.
He currently produces and hosts the lively GOLF TO GO Radio Hour for Sactown Sports 1140 featuring the game’s personalities, lesson tips, getaway locations, and more. Additionally, his topical and entertaining short-format golf features, also branded GOLF TO GO, run every day on the station. He has hosted a series of Emmy nominated golf programs for KVIE television called “Tee Time: Golf in Northern California.” His latest television program, “Pebble Beach at 100” chronicles the 100th Anniversary of Pebble Beach Golf Links. It has enjoyed National distribution and runs now on continuous loop at the famed Pebble Beach Visitor Center.
He has written about golf for numerous print publications including NCGA magazine and Sacramento Magazine.
His work in golf has garnered him numerous accolades including induction into the Sacramento Golf Hall of Fame and California Golf Hall of Fame, Honorary membership into the PGA, and he is a four-time winner of the Northern California PGA Media Person of the Year award.
He has interviewed Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Johnny Miller, Billy Casper, Annika Sorenstam, and many other legends of the game. But his favorite interviews are the juniors of the game…tomorrow’s stars.
His commitment to community outreach, growing the game, and his involvement with charity overshadows what he has accomplished in the media.
His support of The First Tee, the Northern California PGA Foundation, the Morton Golf Foundation, the George Archer Foundation for Literacy and any growth of the game initiative is unquestioned. He is sought out for his expertise in fundraising, marketing, and public relations.
He has championed causes for Veterans through PGA HOPE and disabled golfers through Saving Strokes, along with many programs for juniors, women, and other charitable organizations.
He is regarded by many as the voice of golf in Northern California and as such has kept the topic of golf in the minds of many.
Frank is married and counts a daughter and son as his life’s treasures but says the recent birth of his grandson has bumped them back one slot!
